Badbaado Innovation & Humanitarian Development (BIHD) is a youth-led, non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization established in 2016 in Somalia. BIHD works to address humanitarian, socio-economic, environmental, and peacebuilding challenges affecting vulnerable and marginalized communities. BIHD is founded on the belief that youth empowerment, meaningful participation, community-driven solutions, and innovative approaches are essential for building a peaceful, resilient, inclusive, and self-reliant society. BIHD works particularly with youth, women, IDPs, returnees, and other vulnerable groups, promoting their participation as active agents of positive social change.

Mandate: To empower vulnerable and marginalized youth, including girls and boys, IDPs, returnees, and refugees, to become agents of positive change. BIHD provides needs-based assistance and mobilizes resources to promote youth health and well-being, climate action, agriculture, TVET and skills development, livelihoods, human rights, and the prevention of discrimination and violence, while creating an enabling environment for meaningful youth participation and sustainable development.

BIHD believes that all people are of equal value and have the same rights, but are born into inequality of circumstance and opportunity that can be changed.
BIHD works in both rural and urban communities, with youth at the center of humanitarian response, recovery, resilience, and sustainable development. We empower young people to participate in decision-making, community initiatives, peacebuilding, skills development, and livelihoods, while working with communities and partners to promote inclusion, self-reliance, and lasting positive change.
